E kaluara \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb nga vlerat dhe d\u00ebshmit\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb \u00e7muara p\u00ebr zhvillimin e \u00e7do qytet\u00ebrimi dhe kush m\u00eb shum\u00eb se Durr\u00ebsi mund t\u00eb krenohet me historin\u00eb e tij, teksa bashk\u00ebjeton \u00e7do dit\u00eb me t\u00eb. I rind\u00ebrtuar historikisht mbi veten, nj\u00eb pjes\u00eb e mir\u00eb e trash\u00ebgimis\u00eb s\u00eb pasur historiko-kulturore dergjet ende n\u00ebn tok\u00eb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKa nj\u00eb ve\u00e7anti Durr\u00ebsi, q\u00eb p\u00ebr arkeolog\u00ebt nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb e mir\u00eb, pasi qyteti modern \u00ebsht\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar gjithnj\u00eb mbi qytetin e vjet\u00ebr. N\u00eb qytete t\u00eb tjera antike ne e projektojm\u00eb veten n\u00eb situat\u00ebn antike pasi jemi t\u00eb rrethuar nga monumente antike. N\u00eb Durr\u00ebs e kemi t\u00eb v\u00ebshtir\u00eb, pasi nd\u00ebrtimet e reja I jan\u00eb mbivendosur atyre t\u00eb reja. T\u00ebrmetet e kan\u00eb goditur historikisht qytetin, duke e rrafshuar at\u00eb, po gjithnj\u00eb ai \u00ebsht\u00eb ngritur e ringritur mbi veten duke d\u00ebshmuar forc\u00eb dhe vitalitet q\u00eb nga koha e themelimit e deri n\u00eb dit\u00ebt tona. Sipas arkeologes Lida Miraj, monedhat e p\u00ebrdorura dhe epsiloni arkaik d\u00ebshmojn\u00eb zhvillimin e r\u00ebnd\u00ebsish\u00ebm urban t\u00eb qytetit n\u00eb antikitet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Legjend\u00ebn e themelimit t\u00eb qytetit e tregon Apiami q\u00eb tregon se ishte nj\u00eb mbret ilir Epidamnos themeloi qytetin dhe Dyrrachiom themeloi portin dhe e quajti me emrin e tij.
